Lovingly Renovated Traditional Farmhouse With Stunning Sea Views in Porches, Algarve

€715,000

Lovingly Renovated Traditional Farmhouse With Stunning Sea Views for sale in Porches, Algarve

€715,000

Located down a tranquil country road and just two kilometres from the stunning Algarve coastline this superb old farmhouse has been completely renovated in a farmhouse meets beach house style.

With no direct neighbors, this is a rare unspoilt location with expansive sea views to the south and country views towards the beautiful Monchique mountains in the north.

The front door brings you to the center of the house. The central interior has been opened up to a spacious open-plan kitchen  / lounge with access to a large calçada outside entertaining area with fabulous sea views.

The kitchen has natural stone work tops and a central island with breakfast bar and stools to watch the chef cook on the central hob. The handcrafted wood kitchen has a built-in oven, microwave, an integrated fridge freezer, a dishwasher and a sink with sea views, as well as plenty of storage space.

The lounge is spacious and has plenty of natural light, however, there are fitted blinds on each door and window if you prefer some shade. To the rear of the lounge and centrally located is pre-installation for a fireplace.

The main bedrooms are situated on the north side of the property, perfect for keeping them cool in the summer.  The master bedroom, on the north-west side, has built-in walk through wardrobes with lots of space and an attractive en-suite tiled bathroom with underfloor heating. The bathroom has a large tiled walk in shower and a bath tub.  Beautiful coral and shell design tiles have been used in neutral colours, giving a relaxed feel.

On the east side of the living room, an archway leads to two more bedrooms and a bathroom. The double bedroom is also north facing, and there is plenty of space here for a wardrobe if desired.  Next to this bedroom is a beautiful guest bathroom with a walk-in tiled rain shower and the same attractive coral-style tiles.  Facing south is a third bedroom or office, which has lots of natural light and countryside and sea views.

The outside terrace, with access from the kitchen via double patio doors, has attractive tiled traditional benches around the perimeter wall for relaxing in the sun or under the shady wooden pergola. This area is ideal for outside dining and entertaining.

On this terrace is a barbecue, a bread oven, and an outside cupboard for a washing machine. Above the cupboard is a sink and natural stone worktop. The whole terrace has fabulous ocean and countryside views and has been tiled in traditional calcada (cobblestones)

From here, a hand-made steel staircase leads to a spacious roof terrace with more beautiful views, where you can sit and watch the sun go down. Off this terrace, under the roof, is a great storage area.

The gardens stretch in front of the house to the south and there is an abundance of fruit trees including lemon, orange pomegranate, fig, almonds, olives and mulberry - to name a few. There is even a small vineyard which, although neglected, could be brought back to work if you have green fingers.

Also in front of the house is a large cistern, which used to supply water to the house, before mains water was installed.  It collects rainwater from the roof via hidden gutter pipes and is great for irrigation.  Next to this is a large lemon tree which bears plenty of fresh lemons.

The property has a completely new insulated roof and all electrics, plumbing, tiling and rendering are new. The ceilings are wooden beam and there are ceiling fans in all rooms, as well as air-conditioning. Both bathrooms have underfloor heating. All doors and windows are tilt-and-turn and double-glazed. There is an alarm system.

The farmhouse can be extended a further 190m2 and a swimming pool can also be added. There is also the possibility to buy the rustic plot, of the same size, to the east.

This is probably one of the more beautiful, unspoilt coastal locations available.  It is just five minutes to Porches and the Nobel international school, and is in close proximity to major golf courses, shopping and local beaches.
